Fabiano Parisi, Il Mondo Che Non Vedo 231, 2020, C-Type photograph mounted on Dibond in tray frame, 110 x 135 cm, 43 1/4 x 53 1/8 in

Fabiano Parisi began his career as a photographer following a degree in Psychology. Abandoned buildings and the beauty within, are the subject of his practice today. The title of his ongoing series Il Mondo Che Non Vedo (The World I Do Not See) is from Fernando Pessoa’s poems, a hint at the historical poetics of Parisi’s work. Parisi prefers natural light, shooting before dawn, as colours and chiaroscuro are at their best at this time of day.

Parisi links to Art History through the subject of the ruin, prevalent in the XVIII and XIX centuries, updates the genre by visually commenting on contemporary decay. From Piranesi to Turner to Constable, Parisi develops this important art subject. Parisi participated in the 54th Venice Biennale, Fotografia Festival Internazionale di Roma, and 2012/2014 Young Masters Art Prize.

Fabiano Parisi is represented internationally by the Cynthia Corbett Gallery.
