Lan Zhenghui’s Ink Monument was commissioned initially by Art Central Hong Kong’s selection committee and debuted there in 2016,. Lan created his master-work to express the power of sadness and an epic awareness of tragedy. He followed the work’s debut in Hong Kong with a series of university lectures across the United States and a second residency at Mana Contemporary, co-sponsored by Ethan Cohen Fine Arts.
