I mine real-time data and scientific visualization to resolve my concerns regarding the non-easthetic and design principles of manned and unmanned space flight, to create works on paper, wall drawings, oil paintings, sound compositions and multi-media installations. The visual data I mine is sourced from the spaceflight programs operated by the U.S., Russia, Japan and the E.U., specifically the International Space Station operations, American and Russian space walks, and Mars exploration programs. I'm conceptually concerned with form vs. function, remote sensing, and formally concerned with aerospace architecture, earth observation, and materials sciences. Post-studio research is conducted in Houston, TX; Cape Canaveral, FL; Korolyov (Moscow), Russia and Baikonur, Kazakhstan. These subjects and concerns enable me to understand, analyze and speculate our relationship with nature, with technology, with each other and with ourselves.
