Rafael Vargas Bernard (presented by REM Project, San Juan) enacts “Burocracia Autodestructive”, utilizing an office stapler affixed to a microphone, the artist will fold and staple papers while also stapling himself, reflecting complex and inefficient procedures and paperwork ruin, approx. 15 min.

Rafael Vargas Bernard (presented by REM Project, San Juan) enacts “Superficial Analysis e Interpretacion”, scanning booth artworks as well as individuals in close vicinity with a synthesizer “stick”, translating color frequencies into audio frequencies. Approx. 15 min.

It is astonishing the lengths to which a person, or a people, will go in order to avoid a truthful mirror, curated by Jasmine Wahi and Rebecca Pauline Jampol and featuring video works by artists Bang Geul Han, Melvin Harper, Amy Khoshbin, Shaun Leonardo, and Kambui Olujimi.

As part of VOLTA’s monthlong activation on Friday nights at The Ace Hotel’s lobby bar, immerse in the dancehall jams by TYGAPAW, Jamaica-born, Brooklyn-based multi-hyphenate creative (DJ, designer, producer, promoter) and champion of inclusive nightlife. She played our 2016 Afterparty, along with Afropunk last summer, and her new EP “Love Thyself” is sublime
