Olive Ayhens currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She has had 2 solo exhibitions at Frederieke Taylor Gallery, NY. She has had solo exhibitions of her works in various galleries and museums in San Francisco since 1972 and New York since 2002. She has also been included in group exhibitions throughout the United States.
Her work was recently on view at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Art Wave Exhibition, curated by Dan Cameron. The artist was a 2006 recipient of the Guggenheim Award and has received additional awards including the Pollock-Krasner in 2001 and 1998, the Gottlieb Grant in 1996. Her most recent artist residencies include St. James Cavalier Center for Creativity, Malta 2009, Whiskey Town 2009, MacDowell 2007, Yaddo 2006, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts 2006, and the Fundacion Valparaiso artist residency, Spain 2005.
