Born 1978 in Klagenfurt, Austria
Markus Leitsch studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna until 2006. The Artist explores the complex relationship of nature and technology as well as the history of economics. Another important focus is the notion of human creation: what is the source and the motor of creation? What are the consequences? His at times deft and morbid installations, videos and photographs - using stuffed animals and explicit sexual imagery - are somewhat related to the tradition of the art movement ‘Wiener Aktionismus’, while he develops his very personal adaptation of it. Markus Leitsch lives and works in Vienna.
