 Born 1939 in Warsaw, Poland
Krzysztof Zarebski was born in 1939 in Warsaw. In 1962-1968 studied painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Involved in performance art since 1971. In 1974-1981 Zarebski worked with Helmut Kajzar in his experimental theatre. Designed sets for productions of Kajzar’s plays in theatres and galleries of Warsaw, Wroclaw, Schersberg and Berlin. Lives in New York since 1981, where he collaborates with The Rivington School performance artists group. In 1988 he designed the set for a production of Tadeusz Rozewicz’s play directed by Kazimierz Braun, staged i.a. in Chicago. Krzysztof Zarebski practices performance art, photography and sculpture.
