Born 1955 in Tel Aviv. Lives & Works in Hamburg and Tel Aviv
“At the very outset of his career, Zvika Kantor (°1955 Tel Aviv) Lives & Works in Hamburg and Tel Aviv, had already realized that in art one can only metaphorically answer the fundamental questions concerning the rules of the game by which we live. The developments of his works may thus be perceived as an ongoing process of allegorization, at least in the classical sense of the parable, which denotes the juxtaposition of two different things. Thus, in many of his works Kantor travels to other, contradictive words, while placing incongruent elements side by side, in the belief that the viewer will extract his own insights from these crosses.” Mordechai Omer, Fragment text Man with His Head Upside-Down, catalogue Hotel- It May be a Verbal Riddle!
