The work of David Ellis weaves rhythm, cultural landscape and conceptual art. His paintings are often recorded in a form of digital time based media called motion painting. Like a band leader, Ellis combines his ideas with other disciplines in a process that promotes improvisation and spontaneity and likens the artist's practice to that of a Griot. His recent installations have been exhibited in Paris, London, New York, Miami, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia. "Trash Talk", an ongoing series of drum kit infused piles of curbside rubbish was featured in Christian Marclay's recently curated, Ensemble at the ICA, Philadelphia.
