Micah Lexier Presented by: Birch Libralato Micah Lexier’s "Lives and Works" series, is an evolving body of conceptual work that documents thoughts and images from the artist's personal and professional life. Working with his own handwriting along with various found sources, the artist renders some of these marks in laser-cut metal which are then mounted on coloured walls or silkscreened onto large canvases mimicking pages from a notebook.
Micah Lexier was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and attended the University of Manitoba School of Art, graduating with his BFA Honors in 1982. He pursued graduate studies at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, completing his MFA in 1984. Lexier currently splits his time between New York and Toronto and is represented by Birch Libralato. Lexier has exhibited both nationally and internationally in group and solo exhibitions and his work can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Le Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, The British Museum, and The Art Gallery of Ontario.
